Opening up a movie theater
    #7034545 -

Imagine some super-dive movie theater that shows old 80's horror movies, black-sploitation flicks, cult movies, and goofy crappy movies in general. The place would be a dump and it would be a "Bring Your Own Beer" establishment. You could write stuff on the walls, get drunk, throw stuff at the screen, etc...

Do you think that such a place would gain a following and be financially workable?

seems like it'd become too much of a shithole too quickly to attract people in the long run.

probably cost more to run than a regular theater, since you wouldn't be raping the customers with concessions, and you'd most likely have to pay the staff more to deal with cleaning up all the shit that normal theater-jockies don't have to deal with.

movie theatres hardly make any money from tickets because of the insance prices they have to pay to get licenses for the films. the majority of the cash they bring in is from the concessions. might not be a problem though if all you show are old flicks.

if you can afford it, some radio advertisements would be perfect for spreading the word about it.
