If I take a spore print from a wild field shroom is it possible to successfully grow them at home w/out contams?

Can you please elaborate? will useing agar allow to spereate the spores from possible contams? I recently made a syringe from a wild mushroom and Inoculated some jars. When my ordered syringe came in i got rid of most though, there was some white fuzzy stuff growing were i injected (on the surface) in the ones i opened. I dont know if it was mycelium. I kept two so ill let you know how they turn out.

Your best bet would to be isolating stong, uncontaminated mycellium on agar, then transfer that to another agar plate to ensure that it is the best selection. When you are stified with your results, transfer that to your substrate.

ok, so your not separating the spores from the contams but rather growing the mycellium and contams (if any) then separating the mycellium from the bad stuff. Sounds harder than ordering a syringe, but still good to know.

Hey, just to let you know both jars from wild prints have contaminated. I still think it can be done if you get one just as the veil breaks, but i also think your better of ordering a syringe.
