anyone like golf?

I know this should be in sports forum but there was like 1 person viewing it.....

So are you a golfer?
how good are you and how long you been playing?

I'm getting addicted to it right now..

I was playing today and hit a sweet chip shot from just in the rough at the edge of green and it rolled straight in the hole!...feels great

But I'm generally shit..I sometimes take 6 or 7 shots to finish a par 3 hole if I play bad.

Yeah I play a lot of golf. Our season just ended for the school team so I'm kinda taking a break. It was starting to piss me off. But I keep wanting to get out there and play.
I've only been playing for about 4 years but I'm pretty good. I'm about a 5 handicap (if you know what the hell that is).
The past 2 weekends I got high and went to the range and I couldnt hit the ball worth a shit but it was fun as hell!

i shoot like 110 sometimes more

not good at all but i can hit the ball pretty well

Depends on how much you smoke. If you get completely blazed off your ass, no. If you just take a couple hits I find it can be very relaxing and beneficial.

5 handicap is very good!

My Papa (now dead) was local club champion twice and his handicap was 4

so you must be pretty damn good!

yeah i guess im alright :smile:

and i was pretty much stoned out of my mind both times so that probably why. i mean i couldnt hit the ball worth a crap but it was a lot funner. ill try smokin a little less next time and see what happens.

yeah i understand where youre coming from. i absolutely hate watching golf on t.v. but i love playing it. i used to hate golf and not see the point in it either but i was naturally good at it so i just kept playing and got better and better. trust me, when u can actually hit the ball, its really fun.

I've only played a couple times, but I'm catching the bug for sure. Not very good right now, but my years of baseball must help me a little, because I can usually hit my drives around 200 yards. nothing huge, but pretty damn far for a skinny white boy like me.

thats cool. but just keep playin man and if u cant play that often just go hit balls at the driving range. i remember when i used to hit my drives 200 :smile:. now i hit my 5 iron 200 yards and my drives go around 280-290.

I love golf, love it. Got addicted to it 3 years ago, im on my 4th season of playing right now. I was a member at my local course last year and managed to get my scores down in the 80's for the season (lowest round 82), but i haven't been able to get out but a few times this year so my game is horrible right now. I've been really itching to get some lessons, however at this moment i'm just happy to find some time to play. The weather and school have been making it impossible to get out.

I can bomb drives, but my irons give me hell every time I play. I can hit straight but I have a rough time hitting with the right amount of power and always over or undershoot my target. My putting leaves something to be desired also.

The first year I started playing I hit about a 370 yard drive. It was on the par 4 third hole of a local public golf course here with my buddy's Big Bertha driver. The pin was at 340 yards and I overshot the green by about 30 yards or so.

hahaha thats a fuckin huge ass drive. do u just grip it and rip it and hope it goes straight and far? or can u hit it far with accuracy every time?

I was well fucked off today..

I kept slicing most of my tee shots off to the right and I had to take about 5 attempts since on they all went completely off the course...

I mean I was lined up completely straight to the hole but I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong!?

if you have a constant problem of underhitting your shots there's a simple solution for it. Club up! Knowing you have that extra distance already makes you swing smoother and easier which is what you want.

If you're losing distance because you're hitting it fat that's another story, but if you're making good contact and coming up short just add an extra club on top of what you need.
