I've been golfing a lot recently--as often as I can find people to go with...
I took lessons when I was 12 or so for a summer, but didn't play again for years. last year my dad got me clubs for my birthday, so I've been playing a bunch ever since. I still suck, but at least I'm progressing where some of my tee shots still hit fairway.

It's pretty sweet: when I go home for holidays, he takes us on some primo gorgeous courses. you know, uber-green, GPS in the cart, $80 courses.

so gabba, how long you been playing?

love me some golfin'... I like going to the course about an hour before sundown, it's like golfing in an episode of Wild Kingdom... all kinds of animals running around the course. We literally have HERDS of rabbits and cyotes that'll go chasing after them. My handicap blows though... im a 1-2 over par golfer consistently... and I have a "boomerang" slice when I don't pay strict attention to my stance.

I enjoy golfing, but finding a set of left handed clubs has always been difficult. However, they are easier to find if you don't mind shelling out $$ for expensive clubs.

I kinda stopped golfing since the club head on my driver cracked, and I have just been looking for one of those ~$30 drivers to replace it with. Single lefty drivers are a rarity when I go to super stores as well as sporting good stores.

I have more fun when I remember that golf is a game to be played, not won.

lid go to www.pinemeadowgolf.com  They're knockoff clubs at great prices.  The clubs play just as well as the name brands do and are hundreds of dollars cheaper.  You can buy a decent driver on there for 40 bucks.

how can you say a 1-2 handicap sucks? Unless you mean you bogey or double ever hole which leaves you with an 18-30 hcap.

I play golf every day that i can.  Been a member at my local course for a few months now and have really been taking the oppurtunity to play as much as possible.  How can you not like a game where the more fucked up you get, the better you play?  I usually dont even find my swing til after the third beer (and right before the first hydro). :laugh:

yah, im the same, lowest score ive had was 90.  Still fighting those last two holes to break it, but its my only way of truly relaxing without smoking herb.  I play with a bunch of older guys in a skins match every week, once you start playing for money you never look at the game the same way :smile:

yeah....I played on my High School team and we won the NY City Championship in my senior year.

I was pretty good back then.

These days I don't get out much.

Heh, same with me. Only way to relax without a fat doobie. I tried playing for dollars with some of the other nurses at work... they spank me and take my money. I feel hustled. (not really)  Still lots of fun though. Oh, and never play with doctors... they get too damn much pratice and make me look silly.  :blush:

i take the opposite approach, i play in money games with people who are actually better then i am. My group of guys has been playing for about ohhh 25+ years. Ive been playing for 2. Keep in mind they're no tiger woods either, but they have registered 12 hcaps to my 25. The beauty of a skins game is taking advantage of the others mistakes, if you can hang tough to par and push holes the other guys are bound to screw up leaving you a chance. Each time i play i always walk away with at least one skin if not more (nailed 8 this week).

If anything you should golf with other guys who are better and take their advice, just this summer someone showed me a grip change that added 65 yards to my drive. It's amazing how small things you'd never notice make such a difference in your swing and how you play.
