mean green has meet its match!(updated before and after)

#6979697 - 05/28/07 09:41 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

so i had a bag of wbs with a little sawdust mixed.

i put shaggy mane in there and not much happened.

so i took out what i could that had grown and spawned blue oyster in the same bag at other side of bag to try and save it(bag).

it had turned about a forth of the bag white when the mean started to grow next to what was left of the shaggy.

now weeks later the blue oyster has a very soild hold on the west side and now has the mean green pinned to the east.

not only is the mean green pinned down and having no new growth...but the blue oyster is colinizing IT.

before

in this picture you can see whats left of the shaggy mane in the east corner

also my pictures are a little goofy, it looks like the blue oyster has a green tint to it but this is not the case when you look at it.

also something weird that happened was on the top surface i had lots of yellowing...so much that it turned orange. It has me wondering if it was all the fighting chemicals it was produceing or if it was actually yellow oyster trying to fruit....ill soon find out in a few weeks.

whatever this is it is the strongest growing mushroom i have ever seen. I made up 12 jars and have about 8 different mushrooms growing in them. This "blue oyster" is completely finished and in the fruiting chamber while all the other jars are not even close to halfway done yet.

After (about week left till its finished)
