Need help with a track

I have been working on this DnB track and I just can't get it to sound right.

I need some advice on where to go with it. It is only about 50% done.

If it just plain sucks ass, let me know.

what program do you use, i have logic, ableton and reason. id love to help and would like to give you an unfinished track of mine(i have lots).
i also use a mac, so let me know what u got and see what we can do!

Just listened to your track man,

looks like you need to work on that bass a bit and make  a BASS out of it :wink:
I could hardly hear it, on my shity little speakers tho, still, should be audible really, specially from a D'n'B track...

Gotta make it huge, you can try the "duplicate track" function for start...and lower the volume in both bass tracks right after, this gives more mass to your bass...its a psychoacoustic trick, used very often to make sounds seem larger,

Also that hi-hat needs some serious compressing for my taste...or any other effect if you want...thats a good start generally, i hope your track turns out the way you want it, just remember to experiment a bit, don't get stuck with used ideas of other peoples tracks...

...new ideas are what our shroomy ears like to hear....they generate new thoughts...new sensetions...another cool trick is to experiment using 2 different bass-lines to make a third new one by combining them...generates some cool stuff you would never be able to do with one

now go fire up that PC! :laugh:

Hey, thanks for that trick, I may have to try it.

I am totally changing the intro around, and getting a new synthline. Was not happy with it at all. I will try and compress the hi hats and keep them sounding ok.
