So should he have gotten the base on that or did the ump make the right call?

I don't even know who it was, but he got hit in the knee and the umpire didn't give him the base because he didn't make an attempt to get out of the way. I think he should have gotten the base and I'm not even a Yankees fan.

I think he should have gotten the base...There wasn't much room for him to move out of the way, and he barely leaned in to it..if anything he leaned his calf into it to spare his knee.

Boy oh boy, you almost never see that call made and I've seen a lot of guys not try. Especially Bonds with his suit of armor.

Best part of last night for me was when my girlfriend's dad turned to me and said, "Dan, how would you feel if Jeter hit a home run right here?" "Well I don't think it's very likely.." WHAM

I didn't see this particular call, but it is rarely called.

I remember a couple of years ago in Oakland they called it on Joe Crede. If I recall correctly him and Ozzie got tossed out and it most likely cost them a win. But they won the WS that year, so it's forgiven for the most part.

Fuck yes he does.

Christ.

Thank God Jason Marquis and Ted Lilly and Rich Hill are absolutely stellar.

Hehe, yes. Christ, our bullpen sucked this weekend. At least we've got that nice, shiny, and recent World Series banner for you folks to stare at when you come to The Cell later this year.

I wanna thank you, Deadmaker, for that heads-up post in the Fantasy Baseball thread about Marquis being the pitcher last year that got shelled by the Sox in interleague play...

I benched him in my other league and it went a long way towards securing me a win in a few categories in my head-to-head league.

Haha. I didn't remember that it was him until I went and saw that he had an ERA over 11 career against them and I remembered them beating St Louis like 20-1 or something like that. They had at least 20 runs. That was an excellent offensive day in fantasy baseball for me last year cause I had 5 or so White Sox starting that game. I can't remember which inning it was but in one of them, all 9 hitters in their line up got a hit in the same inning.

I went ahead and started him. Looked good with a no hitter through 3 inning, then it went to hell.

Yeah, you guys have to win at least 2. Actually, you really need to sweep, although I do not see it happening.

Hopefully Bobby will get going again. Fuck, he has sucked for the last month. I wish I had traded him to you lol. He says that he saw the ball a lot better yesterday though, so hopefully that will continue.
