Fuck, I fucking hate Tim McCarver and Joe Buck...thank god Joe Buck wasn't covering today's Sox/Yanks game, but really it didn't make it any better. McCarver and the asshole he was bantering with were bad enough. I know it's a fashionable thing to be down on the Yankees, but FOX seriously takes it too far. They refuse to give the Yankees credit for anything they achieve. All Yankee runs are attributed to Red Sox flaws, not the fact that we've got one of the most disciplined lineups there is when it comes to their at-bats.

And the stupid "Play of the Game" shit pissed me off too. Play of the game was easily Jorge Posada clearing the bases with a 3-run triple. Instead they give it to Manny's home run that cleared the Big Green Monster...that play tied the game when it did, but had absolutely no bearing on the final outcome!

Fuck FOX!

I hate the Yankees.

Joe Buck and Tim McCarver do suck, but they're better than Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. Why not watch it locally?

FOX blacks out the local coverage...it's the only option. I ended up listening to half the game on the radio cause I do love listening to John Sterling.

So...Yankees/White Sox LCS?

Ya'll shouldnt have a problem at all with the Red Sox. I thought they would pull it out until a week or so ago, but they look really really bad. Yesterday clinched it. They're officially "Done" in my book. I would not be looking forward to the play-offs though. All the AL playoff teams will be dangerous. I dont even know whos leading the West...Oakland? They arent very scary, but still...Detroit has to be at least even odds with the Yanks, and I think Chicago would be the favorite. Interesting set of series'.

I really hate the Yankees, but the Sox I absolutely despise. I'd make the treck down to the South Side to see that one. Even though I'm 90% sure I'd get mugged going to the stadium. It might be better now, I havent even been to that part of town in years.

The only team that can possibly beat us in the playoffs is a team with spectacular pitching.  Because we wear down pitchers like nobody's business. We drive pitch counts insanely high and have some guys with ridonculous .OBP's.  That being said I don't think the ChiSox can beat us in the playoffs, other than Contreras they've been pretty sad on the mound of late and neither can the A's considering we regularly beat up on their ace Zito (who I hope is a Yankee next year!)...it would only be some young Tigers pitching.  And hopefully by October they're nice and worn out. :grin:

I think the Bullpen is the big consideration. Your right about the %'s. Abreau just makes things worse, since I think he sees more pitches per at bat than anyone.

But you arent invincible at all. Your weak defensively, the ChiSox have more power hitters, the ChiSox bullpen is better, and the ChiSox starting pitching is better.

I would take most of the ChiSox position players over the Yankees.

The only team that I don't like the possibility of the White Sox playing is Oakland. We just cannot beat Oakland, especially in Oakland. We've won something like 3 of the last 25 games we've played in Oakland. It's horrible.

And we always seem to get the same umpire whenever we play in Oakland and he seems to really not like the White Sox cause he's always fucking us over. I can't think of his name off of the top of my head, but he's a bastard for sure.

C'mon...You can beat oakland. Its all a psychological thing, minus some BS he was giving about weird shadows and day games...

I'd rather play anyone haha.....I've watched every Sox game in Oakland for the last 5 years probably and they just play like shit. It is psychological now, but psychology matter in sports man.Maybe they will be more confident now since they one the series, but who knows. They go to Oakland in the middle of September, so we will see thenhow they do.

And I'd rather not have to deal with all of the Frank Thomas drama either.

yeah, I had to take the redline past the Cell to the end of the line (95th & Dan Ryan) last week and, man, that was some ghetto shit. I saw some guy on the train who was all nods and had a hand full of syringes with him. Lots of shady characters too. Basically, I was in a fighting position ready to break someone's jaw by the time I was near the Cell.
