Anyone tried a homemade syringe? * 1

Well, I have pretty much all the materials needed to start my growth but I am having trouble finding a syringe. Where I live you need a perscription at any store to get one and they are kept behind the counter. I do have this kind of syringe: but I was wondering if anyone has tried making a homemade syringe? I am trying to come up with ideas that I could use to put an exstention on the end of it so it would work like a syringe. Any ideas??

Or would this one work? I just dont think it would go deep enough into the substrate.

If you know any small stores that sell inkjet printer refill cartridges ask them if they have any of the syringes for injecting the ink spare.  That's where I get all mine from. :smile:

Hmmm...I think I may know a store that sells that. I will try there. Thanks! Still looking for ideas, one I came up with was the part of a pen that holds the ink, only thing I couldn't figure out was how to get the ink out.

Here where I live, I can just buy a syringe in any pharmacy, they come with needles and all, no prescription.

They sell insulin syringes which are the ones intravenous heroin users use and the bigger 10cc syringes with bigger bore needles which are designed for intramuscular use. Cost about 80 euro cents, sterile and all

why dont you contact a farm supplier. pet store? they are like a buck and I have like literally 100 different ones in different sizes. Contact the spore suppliers in Canada, they would know

How is it possible that you can't walk into a pharmacy and just ask for the bloody things.

There is loads of drugs, antibiotics mainly that need to be injected intramuscularly (ie in the bum) and insulin syringes have an even more obvious use. Even needle-less syringes are really useful for feeding bids, cleaning out ears and noses with saline solution and loads of other little things.

Crazy, they could at least sell em needle-less. Have you actually tried just going into a pharmacy and just asking? If they ask for a reason just say it is for feeding a bird (or if they wonder why you would need the needle just say you restore furniture as a hobby and you use it to inject bug killer into the wormwood holes or something like that)

No drug user in his right mind would use the syringes and needles we use for intravenous drug use, they use insulin syringes and needles, which are more controlled. You would squeal like a stuck pig if someone stabbed you in a vein with one of the other monsters.

I sincerely doubt a pharmacist thought you wanted one of those syringes for drug use.

I actually live like 15 minutes from Cambridge so this Ralph spore guy would work perfectly. Has anyone ordered off this site before and know if they are reliable and not a rip off?

Go to the pharmacy, tell them your girfriend is diabetic and you need some syrings. Thats what I would do, ofcourse my girlfriend is actually diabetic, I pick them up for her all the time, you need no script. They will never think your cultivating shrooms. They might think ur herion user, but thats a small price to pay, LOL.

would it be such a big deal if you DID say you were cultivating mushrooms?

if details arise, just say you're  a budding mycologist looking to start cultivation of fine gourmet mushrooms.  :smile:  but either way, good luck!

hey man, i know for a fact in canada that in larger gardening stores u will find various sizes of syringes and spikes they were only 50 cents each

i wouldent even midn tellin em its for mushroom spores u could be growing so many dif kinds of mushrooms that are actualy legal they shouldent even question u, and usualy a 10cc syringe and a big guage needle isint rly used for injecting anything..

but yeah they all say for veterinary use only on them, u might even be able to go to the vet and find some

btw sorry if sum1 already said this i just skipped to the end to reply

edit: btw even if u did tryto iv somthing with one of those syringes fuckin blood would prolly be squirting outa the fat ass hole u just punched thru ur vein, the 1cc rigs are what the junkies use so aslong as u arent buying those and some like 9999 gauge needles they shouldent really suspect anything. im almost positive u wouldent need a script to buy the veterinary ones im talkin about, they were in boxes in individual bags all sterile and shit and right above that shelf was more boxes with a shitload of spikes in indivudal packages all sterile. i found these at the "Farm and Garden"

This is precisely what I did when I was first looking for syringes. In my area the biggest anywhere carried was 10cc with 21 gage needle. Which was too small for my purposes. But the point being they didn't even bat an eye at me being suspicious, they just told me what I needed to know in a friendly manner. You got to think, these people have no idea, they're just doing their job!

I ended up ordering mine off the net for incredibly cheap, cant remember the site, but a google search will turn up a good source I'm sure.

the plastic ones can be re-sterilized a ton of times. after use suck some boiling water into it a few times and PC 15-20 minutes. Here in the US you dont need a script for any insulin syringes. They ask what kind you need and what you are injecting. No proof requested, or legally required. 2 for 5 seems kind of high especially after shipping. If your gonna order from ralph I would get a handful so you will be set for good.

I ordered my 18 ga needles from a body art site in canada for $16 for a 100 and purchased 100 14ga needles from a farm supplier for $40 bucks. Any online vet supplier will have syringes.
