The Growery doesn't sound very good, but it's the best option given.

How about The Grower?

One who grows.

The site does all the work for you.

Lacks the sound of community though.

The "Growery.org" sounds likely to get shut down to me. Remember overgrow? If the name indicates a focus on cultivation, I think that's more likely to attract negative attention. Plus, "Growery" is not consistent with "Shroomery". The Shroomery is a site dedicated to mushrooms. The Growery is a site dedicated to...what exactly? Is it a site about marijuana or a site about growing? And if it's about growing, is it about growing marijuana specifically?

How about herbery.org?

I totally agree. It shouldn't ONLY focus on growing. There should be a forum for the war against drugs, a pub just for stoners, recipes, pic of the month, cultivation sponsors, Teks, a store, security and safety, and free key chains for all the shroomerites! :borat:

Personally, I think all the names are terrible. The site can be affiliated with this one, but why have the same suffix?

..I feel like my vote was unjustified, because I didn't like any of the choices. I think we'd be better off coming up with a series of these "bouts" and brainstorms for an original name that everyone would enjoy seeing at the top of their internet browser.

I'd also like to mention that the origin of the word we're using now would better support the website as well as the member's views on the war on drugs and attitudes toward legalization.

Well i voted for weedery cause it goes along with shroomery, but I really think the herbery.org should be added to the poll. i would vote for it. its not necessarily about pot, but it still kind of is...? haha

I probably don't. I seemed to remember one of the main operators getting busted for cultivation or something and they seized his computers and that put the heat on overgrow. Why did overgrow get shut down exactly?

Yeah, good point. But it still seems like if the name of the site indicates that a lot of people who grow visit there, it's more likely to be under scrutiny from the law. But they're probably monitoring it either way so maybe it doesn't matter.

The question is; Is this new site going to be revolving around growing pot, or general pot discussing with the addition of growing and other boards?

If it is going to be general pot discussion, I guess "Growery" is a shit name.. But if it will only be a growing forum, I guess then it is ok. None of these names really sound great, which is what is expected (because we know it will be a great website).

I opt we have a competition. the person who makes the best UNREGISTERED name wins something.

I suggest this domain name: www.smokery.org
