smart shops in Amsterdam, will they be knowledgeable on peyote info as well as marijuana??

So I'm going to Amsterdam in may and plan on dosing some peyote for the first time ever.
I have used the search utility tool to find info on correct dosage for the buttons....didn't find a lot of info but it seems the general consensus is anywhere between 4-12 buttons. I know dose advice is not allowed but does anyone know if the people at the smart shops would be knowledgeable on this and would be able to recommend a sufficient dose for a first timer to get full effects?

also - I believe I have heard from various people that mescaline takes a while to kick in....like up to 2 and 1/2 hours, is this correct? I dont want to dose too heavily thinking that its not working.....

and finally when picking out strains of weed, will the people working at the smart shops be able to recommend different highs for me?

I'd expect them to know, but I was there a while ago and I was shocked by how poorly the Lophophoras in some of the smart shops were. I wouldn't plan on going over there & buying 8-12 cacti and eating them, I don't know the legality of consuming mescaline in Holland & at the least it'd be pricy to get that number of plants.

Mescaline takes anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour 1/2 to kick in for me. After that it just keeps getting stronger.

one more question - I heard peyote is expensive (as someone else posted in this thread, as well as other people) anyone know a general range for the prices?

It depends on what you understand by expensive.
It also depends on the smartshop, some are cheaper other are more expensive, and it depends on the quantity too.
I'm inclined to say that they're not expensive.

expensive in my opinion would be anything more than like 10 USD a button....
