Sunshine mornings

sometimes the morning dawns fresh and  clean
we feel refreshed and alive
all our problems and worries are sedated and obliterated
all that we need to do
is breathe
move
play
and give thanks.

I usually find myself preferring days where the sun is not visible through the clouds, but it is still light out. Sort of like the light approaching dawn. If it is gently raining, even better. I feel so alive then. :levitate:

Definitely something I can appreciate.  My personal favorite is when it's overcast and acting like it's thinking about raining, but the cloud ceiling is way too high up and it's too windy for you to take it's threats of a downpour seriously, until the gusts start getting gustier and warmer and you realize that you'd ought to find shelter of some sort soon, but then you decide to get wet instead, and you do that. :smile:

But yeah, cloudy diffuse light is the cat's meow.  As for sunshine mornings, they can be so lovely, especially in the spring.  The violets and trout lilies are coming out here.  This morning I didn't wake up, I was still up from yesterday, but the freshness of the dawn was such that I still felt refreshed and renewed (though with a slightly foggy head).

I'm disappointed that I am not out in nature more. Where I used to live as a teenager with my family, we had a forested hill as our back-yard, and a small creek for a front yard. Acrossed the gravel road was the other side of the valley and another hill full of trees. :earth:

For a year I was on an island surrounded by fjords and mountains, in Norway. Wow, the environment there was so pristine and immersive. Now I'm surrounded by houses and streets. :mad:

Some of us need to work, pay bills, do laundry, go shopping, mow the lawn, pick the kids up at school; etc.

Merely breathing and playing seems highly irresponsible.

We assume the responsibilities that we assume for our own reasons. I'm not certain how one could consider one's own responsibilities, and judge the held responsibilities of another man in such a manner. Its called personal preference. Choosing to not assume a responsibility is not "irresponsible" unless one's choices duly hold them to that responsibility (for example, having children subsequently places you in responsibility to them).

But if one chooses not to have a kid, one does not have to be responsible for picking up the kid from school, and choosing to not have a kid is not irresponsible.

As I was understanding it, he was proposing a recipe to a certain state of being. He was saying that, in order to attain this, all we have to do is...

It isn't as though he was proposing that we all evade personal responsibility for ourselves and the circumstances of our life. :rolleyes:

Yeah, When I lived with my family it was on an island big enough to ensure you couldn't see the coast on more than two sides at a time, and though most of the island is used for agriculture, there're enough forests and derelict fields (returning to wilderness, but not quite there yet) and people there are generally chill enough about trepassing that you could just take some dogs, find a good walking stick, pretend the Enclosures Act never came to pass and ROAM.  Now I live in an apartment in the city.  But there are parks not too far away, and I can still hear songbirds through my open window...

Sorry, sleep deprivation makes me write in run-on sentences.  :tongue:

Someone with a firm grasp on logic and the English language should be capable of determining when something like the English language is not used properly and the intention in that usage. I guess it could be referred to as forming an appropriate context for the ideas being discussed.... Regardless, it is now time for me to stop avoiding the nature of reality and to get some sleep. :yawn:

There is a difference between speculating as to the personal nature of posters and of their intention in proposing a certain idea for discussion, and that of using a poster's expressions of the idea they are attempting to convey to form a sense of what it is they are referring to. Clearly, we simply formed a different sense of what he was speaking of. The fact that he did not imply or state anything regarding avoiding assuming personal responsibility is reason enough to assume that he was not speaking of it.

We can use the ideas expressed and the manner in which they were expressed to determine our best idea of the ideas that they were in the act of conveying - that's called reading comprehension. :smirk:

Perhaps that understanding of logic and the english language was out for tea when your eyes moved across the word 'Sometimes' that preceeded the statement 'all we need to do'?

And yet I didn't.  To elaborate about why folks are taking issue with your taking issue with moonshoe's lovely morning; you said SOME people have responsibilities they are required to meet.  You then proceeded to say that moonshoe's idea of a pleasant morning is inherently irresponsible, though he was by no means demanding that everyone do it everyday or advocating that those with responsibilities immediately begin shirking them and do nothing but breath, play and be thankful.  You already admitted some people don't have responsibilities like getting the kids to school, getting the brownies ready for tonight's PTA meeting, paying bills, shopping etc.  And I mean, who pays the bills every single morning?  There are probably better ways of organizing your bill payments. :smirk:  How can you posit that these people are being irresponsible when they have no responsibilities?  Okay, if they're letting themselves starve to death, that might be considered a bit negligent.  But if they're choosing to do that, you have no right to object.
