Im doin my english final tomorrow..

I wasnt gettin much help in off topic so here ya go..

Iv got the most intense english final tomorrow.. My teacher is all old school hippy and made this 4 essay final with philosophical questions i dont understand..So i thought i would ask u guys.

2Whats a controling Idea?
and what would be a good descusion to make for this?(example)

3Any info on construction of a formal essay..

4What qualities/ ideals do we hold as important in the search of self?

These arnt the exact questions at all. Just the stuff im sort of stumped on. :confused:

a controlling idea would be like you had to get married to have love or life or a relationship possibly forced upon by societies view of the individual or couple in the instance of love. same thing for cars or any kind of product the consumerism specialists can think of to entice you into believing that their products or view of human values stand above all others. a controlling thought can also be psychological like "sure, i love you but dont talk to other women" maybe something like that?

formal essay. state what your going to write about in a brief explanation as an intro and lead into your paragraph slowly bringing up your points and commentary or evidence to support it. topic sentance , evidence if needed or idea, commentary or explanation. you just want to make sure your uniform in bringing up points and explaining them. what qualities in search for the self? i dont know what do you think about when you try and think about your life or who you are? integrity, honesty to ones self... going with what ones feels to be their niche in the scope of the universe. think of like all the heroes journeys and the obstacles theyve had to overcome. maybe oedipus, neo, tyler durder or jack or rupert or whatever in fight club. lol you must be pretty desperate to come on here and ask for help, no one helps me so dont feel to bad i just usually stop caring after school gets out. try going to the literary arts forum and stuff like that, some people on here i know blow the shit out of me when it comes to writing anything or whatever on the shroomery. but its cool i hope that helped
