New York

is a fucking amazing city. I was there for three days visiting NYU and I could SO live there. Making it three days with my mom sans marijuana or masterbation was killer though.

What part of NYU were you looking at? CAS? Tisch? Stern? I'm an NYU grad...and a lifelong NYC resident. NYC FTW!

Gallatin (individualized study). Lotsa money? Try a shitload. They're loading me up on financial aid, my parents can cover about 10,000 a year. The rest they gave me in scholarships, grants, and loans.

God damn, do I miss that city. If you think you would like living there, then do it. I moved there from Florida 5 years ago, and my first year there was the best of my life. Exploring and discovering all the local charms of that city is amazing. Always something different to do. Find a delivery service too. I highly recommend.

My girlfriend and my roommate both graduated from Gallatin - you should really, really do it if it's financially feasible for you.

If I could do my college education over again, Gallatin would be my #1 choice in the whole world. That program is phenomenal in the way it allows you to sculpt your own course of study.

Yeah, Gallatin's program is absolutely mind blowing. No shitty pre-reqs and all those bs classes. Plus, I can spend as much time as I want outside New York at their worldwide campuses in Florence, Prague, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, Ghana, London, and Madrid for NO extra cost. (The Florence campus is the biggest gift ever given to an American university-a 100 acre villa where students live in a number of mansions centering around an olive grove where students make olive oil.) Depending on how my financial aid package changes over the years, I could end up with as much as 100,000 in loans to pay back.

Wow. The education you can receive with that sounds priceless if you take advantage of it though. But 100K? That's a mighty steep hole to crawl yourself out of when it's over and it's time for the real world. Think of the traveling you could do with that money once you graduate from a lesser university. I guess it's all relative.
