Weird Thought.....
    #6776045 -

So im one of those people who have thought about it and decided life on other planets is real. Because pretty much there are over 100 or something solar sytems within our galaxy(the milkyway) and 1000's of other galaxies so the odds are in one of those solar systems theres a planet with the right atmesphere like ours. Anyways i was thinking in the future when we discover those other planets there will be different phycadelics and drugs....i mean think of how many possible drugs there could be in the universe and what they could be like....idk its just a thiought

I doubt we'll ever be able to reach any of those planets unless we have generations reproduce on a space ship that runs for 300 years straight traveling at over 100x light speed.

you know...a lot of people seem to think that aliums are all wicked looking an have tentacles an shit, but I personally think that 'humans' are a lot more common then any ever seems to wann give em credit for

in fact - I would imagine there's a whole buncha planets out there with birds, and fish, and cats, and dogs...and fucken everything we got here

i agree with muppet. i think aliens will be human-like, because of all the advantages we have by standing upright, and the evolutionary steps that have taken place due to our uprightness.

but yeah. i bet their drugs kick ass.

I wonder what kind of machines we will have in the future and what kind of technology we will have to travel through space....
do you think we will ever be able to travel at the speed of light or faster?
traveling at around 186,000 miles/second seems impossible, but who knows what the possibilities will be in the future

theyve just discovered water, the basic building block of life as we know it, in the atmosphere of an extra-solar planet. let me see if i can find the article.

they already have a lot of models and prototypes and ideas. one of them that i find really interesting is a giant slingshot in space that rockets space ships across the galaxy without using fuel to propel them. it uses cable and a spinning motion with some counterweights to fling spacecraft across space.

i think thats really cool.

another one is almost like a spinning top that uses super hot lasers shot at a reflecting bottom of it to propel it upwards using minimal energy. the air by the bottom of the craft explodes which is what lifts it off. theres already a model of it built and it works pretty damn well. they spin it to keep it steady, which is an implication that would be hard to work into space travel however.

but it really is amazing what people are thinking of

Maybe WE have the kickass drugs, eh? Aliens will come here and shit bricks.

On the other hand maybe we will discover Arrakis where there are deserts-full of the bad-assiest drug known to man. Prohibit that bitch!

just do the math

100 billion galaxies multiplied by hundreds of billions of stars and planets in each galaxy

the number is incredible, its something we cant even comprehend its too big

i love the cosmos

According to most evolutionary scientists I've heard of who talk about Alien life, they would be expected to look nothing like us unless they came from a planet nearly identical to Earth.

Our appearances are as they are because of the atmosphere and environment here on Earth. If a life-form came from a planet without a similar atmosphere or environment they would likely look far different because of how they adapted to their own environment.

But this is all Discovery Channel mumbo jumbo I remember watched when stoned a few years back.

But maybe, the drugs in space are not chemically suited to be absorbed by our bodies and brains, like they do on Earth? It seems drugs here were made to work in our brains.. but alien drugs might not!

preposterous! all drugs were made to work in the brains of americans! we are after all the greatest country and the cosmos revolves around us!

I also think it is very likely that alien worlds exist. They would simply have a COMPLETLEY diferent biochemistry. Here life is based off self replicating nucleic acids. Alien life could be composed of anything. This is why theoretical chemistry is so fun. As long as a system follows the basic laws of chemistry, anything is possible.

I also think that we are very lucky to be here. Not only are the conditionsof life pretty slim, but if the astroid wouldn't have hit the dinosaurs, then we would all be lizard people.
