Hay Fever
    #6748585 -

Hello all,

So I typically have hay fever a few times a month every year. I've tried various OTC drugs like loratadine (Claratin), benadryl, tylenol allergy, etc. and also various prescription drugs e.g. flonase and allegra, but none of these seem to help. Symptoms are incessant sneezing and stuffy nose, along with itchy eyes. Have had some success with those "Breathe Right" strips. Just wondering if anyone has any other remedies that will help ease the symptoms.

I know menthol works temporarily (the ones you can buy in those tins) as well as breathing in steam (from a shower or from a cup of tea).

Mullein is an herb that supposedly helps with seasonal allergies but I have not tried it since I do not have allergies.

My suggestion is to keep trying antihistamines until you find one that works.

I use Reactine (or the generic equivalent - cetirizine) and have found that it helps with my allergies immensely! One thing I have found is that Reactine works better if it is taken daily regardless of if you have symptoms on that day. It's better as a preventative medicine than it is one you can take when you are already sneezing.

But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.
