How big is the 20LB dry substrate shipping box from tennstud?

Has anyone ordered the 20LB dry sub from them? How big is this thing. I'm worried that ordering that much might raise some red flags if you know what i mean.

I don't actually know, but if Roadkill says it's "bigger than a breadbox"
I would venture to say it's about as big of a box as you would get a box of oranges or a case of mcdonald's fries in.

A 5lb bag is about 2-3 squared feet. So I would a say 1 20lb bag is about 10 squared feet.

By the way where is Mike........? Still waiting for a reply from the PM's dude....

A 20 lb box of my bone dry shredded h/poo is about the size;
Of a case of 12 quart jars.
About 12X18X9 inch's.
I would wager, his is about the same.

I have a little different opinion on this one. I have shipped 10 LB. packages of manure in the past and I can tell you that it filled a 30 gallon black trash bag halfway. Based on this experience I would have to say a 20 LB. bag of dried manure is going to fill a 30 gallon bag pretty full.

I would think the difference is texture & COMPACTION.
How fine it is shredded & how compacted in a box, it is.


USPS FLAT RATE BOX MEASURES 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8"

Full of fine shredded compacted MycoNitro compost weighs 5.2 lbs
Times 4 = 20 lbs.

MycoNitro is a h/poo-wheat straw based specialized compost.
(supplemented with fruit/produce culls, spent brewers grains, etc)
I assumed it weighs about the same, as dry shredded h/poo alone.

DRY

I have never mailed shredded h/poo.
But, have mailed MycoNitro.
I guess, optimal compost might be more dense.

when I ordered it he sent 20 boxes all with 1lb each... hopefully he does it that way... it didnt like conspicuous at all!:thumbup:
