If you put condescending bumper stickers on your car...

make sure they use CORRECT SPELLING. I got a good laugh coming out of work today. Some lady in front of me had this sticker on the rear window of her car (among stickers of her dogs, Bush, etc.):

"My dog is smarter then your honor student"


If you suck as much as she does you probably won't catch the mistake. If you're a spelling nazi such as me it won't be a problem. Luckily her window was down and as I passed by her I shouted "NICE STICKER, DUMBASS!

Is it really that difficult for the average person to spot?  It jumps out at me like a june bug in my rice. I'm a spelling Nazi too so :shrug:

You'd be surprised. The "average person" is usually the one that thinks than-then, you're-your, they're-their-there, etc. are all interchangeable regardless of the context. Average unfortunately doesn't mean intelligent.

also, in the ENGLISH language its spelled 'honour' .. but you damn americans and your bastardisation of our language :frown:
(You also seem to replace s' in words with z's ^ like in bastardisation :grin:)

Reminds me of a lawsuit in the news a few years ago. 

Guy goes into a tattoo parlor, wants to get the word "villain" tattooed on his arm.  He isn't sure how it is spelled, but he consults the artist and his wife, and the three come up with "villan."  He gets the tattoo, checks a dictionary when he gets home and files a suit against the tattoo artist.

He probably has that same bumper sticker.

When I hear of monumental ignorance such as that I just can't find any reason for those people to continue their existence. I hope he lost his lawsuit and was required to pay the tattoo parlor for legal expenses. I also hope he got hit by a bus on his way out of the courthouse.
