But yep everywhere is pointing at castile soap and rubbing alcahol.

Spider mites are the bane of our existence. They are like locusts.

And now you're posting about *him* in other threads?

What are you, like five?

Well, back to the mites. They look scary under a dissection scope. I have some right now somewhere, probably. One day, all's clear, and the next they're everywhere. I haven't lost a plant to them yet, but I had to fight them every inch with unhealthy chemical poisons. Now thrips, they're a different story...

For mites avid is the best you're gonna find. yeah it costs up the ass but at 2.5 mil per gallon of water it's gonna last a lifetime.

It's not a systemic but a trans-lammer which means it doesn't circulate threw the plant like a systemic but it stays in the spot sprayed for 28 days. Spray the leaf top or bottom, it doesn't matter cause once a leaf is sprayed the entire leaf is protected. The stuff doesn't kill them but instantly paralyzes the permanently which is pretty much as good. Also if there are eggs that hatch the larvae will paralyze off also.
1 dose seems to last threw the entire life cycle of the mite so it will pretty much get rid of em.

Sounds like a pyrethrum based spray. The same as I use...

The stuff I use is a hell of a lot cheaper though.

nawh its not the best you can find magash i disagree, mites that eats spider mites costs like 20 bucks in a garden store lik i mentioned above is the best for mites, i have used these mites to get rid of spider mites and they were gone in a week without using lots of money or any chemicals. organic natural and so on.

You may wanna check those plants again cause that is impossible. The life cycle of the mite is longer then that.

This is a quote from the largest company putting out predator bugs about predator mites "Spider Mite Predators not only feed on Spider Mites and their eggs, they also breed twice as fast! Each Spider Mite Predator sucks the juice out of about 5 Spider Mites a day, or 20 of their eggs. Used as directed, predators should noticeably begin to gain control within 4 weeks, and then continue until the Spider Mites are nearly or completely wiped out. Predators disappear when the Spider Mites are gone."

Then there is another called a spider mite destroyer that does eat the mites at all stages of life but they take up to 6 weeks to get going.

"These tiny Mite Destroyers eat all stages of Spider Mites, and find new infestation sites on their own by flying. But, it takes 4-6 weeks to really get these guys going, so use Predator Mites as well for more immediate control and for cleaning up small "trouble spots". Life cycle takes 18 days at 70 F. 100 Spider Mite Destroyers gets a colony started."

I do agree that natural is the way to go but if you want it done fast those bugs won't do it esp if the spider mite colony is well established

I read about those, and I think I'll give them a try. Just don't know if I could stand living with them in my house for three months.

magash; this was 3 years ago so the plants are long gone, but i put them directly on the web to the spider mites on a rock dagga plant and after a week i couldnt see a single spider mite. never seen one since either. the mites i used came in a glass and the came crawling and falling out , there was maybe 500 of them in the jar.
