 How much air exchange is needed in the Terrarium?

Hey,
How much air exchange would be needed in a 10 gallon terrarium with 6 PF cakes? Would opening the container twice a day and fanning new air in be good enough? Is an air pump nessesary?
I know this info is in the FAQs but i was just looking for opinions.

an air pump is not necessary, although i would fan much more than twice a day during the pinning/fruiting stage. i'd aim for 4-5 fans a day, more wouldn't hurt either.

While an air pump isn't exactly necessary, it certainly can't hurt as long as you can keep your humidity up. For a 10gal aquarium, I imagine that the pump would have to be pretty small.
In TMC (p. 69), The maximum number of air exchanges per hour for Psilocybe Cubensis is 2-3. So you basically just have to roughly figure out how much air space there is in your terrarium (without cakes, perlite, etc), then buy an air pump that will displace 2-3x that amount. So if you have a 10gal aquarium, 2" of perlite, 6 cakes, probably makes 8 gallons of air space. Your air pump should displace between 16 and 24 gallons per hour.
This, of course, is complicated and not really necessary if you don't mind fanning a few times a day.

IMHO...not worth it for a couple cakes! I usually grow 6 cakes at a time...minimal light + air exchange...they get along just fine. Some people even neglect them in the jars while they pin and rant and rave about large flushes/yeilds and supreme potency...no names...but I didn't find the neglect tek. too good..*shrugs*...oh well!
