Ah, thanks for all the info ShroomDoom, it certainly helps.

Yessup, I'm in Middle Tennessee, sometimes in the Cookeville area, sometimes about 30 miles north of Nashville. The Blue Foot, eh?

I've heard of people here finding them in cow patties before, but I've never looked for 'em myself, so I'll let you all know my findings..or lack thereof.

As for the right conditions....should I go a few days after the first good rain at the right temperature, or should I wait for a second or third good rain?

Blue Foot do not grow in Cow Dung... You will have to look for mulch beds and decomposing wood along sandy creek beds ect ect!

Its a wood dweller and when you find them there is a good chance you will have no doubt about what you have found..
Now I have also heard that they will continue to show up in the same location year after year as long as no one rapes the sight and the weather conditions are in favor of the growth of the mushrooms..

I have seen a few Cubensis from TN but they were found more South down by Alabama...
Good luck!

I will begin to incorporate the phylogenic associations into writings(typings) when I Can type it out.

That may not be too far off.

Quote:
The starting date of the PhyloCode will be scheduled to coincide with the publication of First Book of Phylogenetically Defined Names: a Companion to the PhyloCode (see below), which will provide phylogenetic definitions for many widely used clade names and the names of many large clades. Names that were provided with published phylogenetic definitions before that date are not considered to be established under the PhyloCode.

I agree cure - thought he had been banned. let's see if we can't get his rating down to 0. For those who don't remember, he narced out some folks, and seemingly even tried to lure some folks into getting busted, over some weiliis.

I really think what he did is worthy of a perma-ban.  He's a threat to Shroomery.  He got 12ancids weilii site shut down.  :cuss:

Ha, I began a new paragraph speaking to everyone, saying, "I've heard of people finding them in cow patties before..." referring to mushrooms in general, not just the blue foot. I didn't think blue foot grew in poo, but it's all good.

Thanks for the good luck ^_^ I'm very excited about my first expedition, but I wish I could have started thinking about all this a little closer to the season......I suppose it's better now than thinking of it in mid-November though, eh? Well, I can't wait nonetheless! It's been so long since my first/only trip!

As for ihaveacow...thanks for the link...I don't know what went down a while back with you and the Shroomery "narcing", etc., and quite honestly I think I'd rather not know. It's none of my business, I just hope you don't do anything to jeopardize the Shroomery, or anyone associated with it (including myself) from this point forward. PeaCe.
