Does anyone else feel this way? Here's a man who, with a simple ergot extraction, managed to change history, and start a revolution in consciousness. His "problem child" made enlightenment seem attainable to the common man. It's probably "turned on" more people than Jesus or Buddha did in their lifetimes. People who may have had only the slightest spiritual tendencies before were transformed into mystics overnight(as was certainly the case for myself). Even those who did not find a spiritual calling in it often found it deprogramming them of old habits and psychological baggage, such as fundamentalism. Certainly there were casualties, but so must there be for anything so profound. Albert Hoffman was a messenger, but his message was for all of us to find for ourselves within our own consciousness, which he had made so accessible to all of us. His "medicine for the soul," as he called it, was fought by the demiurgic forces of the government and media, but they could not silence the truth.

Yeah, LSD is sweet.

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I seriously doubt that.

LSD is just another means to achieve a "higher" level within oneself, no different than any other path.

I do love it, though

all good
not sure how to sanctify with out a church,
(I would hate to see a new church - enough with churches)
but nothing will erase the gratitude we all feel for his actions.

Dr. Hofmann, with whom I corresponded briefly in the early 1980s, is not only a chemist of international renown, he is also the archetypal Alchemist. It is my contention that LSD-25 is a form of The Philosopher's Stone - a substance which endows its possessor with perpetual youth and Eternal Life. Let me explain lest I offend.

Perpetual youth may not prevent the wrinkling of skin, but it can open one's mind to the necessity of remaining physically limber in order to remain psychologically limber. Hatha Yoga showed me how to take care of the former as well as learning to continually deprogram the psychological encrustations that result in crusty old curmudgeon thinking/feeling. Other esoteric health systems can work as well, but becoming aware of them would not have occurred had LSD not first opened my mind. I appear to be some 20 years younger than my chronological age according to people age 13 to adult. I know about and replenish waning substances in my body. Longevity is not for hedonistic purposes, it is to be used in the acquisition of Enlightenment.

Eternal Life. LSD does not 'impart' Eternal Life, but LSD can open one's mind to the very Reality of Eternal Life, which BTW, is a quality that belongs to Ultimate Reality, not human nature. Human nature, like all of nature, is born and dies. Ultimate Reality is Eternal. It is a Reality which does not permeate nature because it is not extended in space-time. It dwells behind the veil of space-time and it can be intuited or even 'entered into' by the involution of one's mind to the Source of mind. Eternal Life is thus not 'bestowed' upon a mortal nature by a benevolent Deity, it comes to be 'Realized' as Present, indeed Omnipresent, which includes being Present to that special place or point where human nature emerges from Deity. Read for yourself Dr. Hofmann's regard for LSD mystical experience:

Peace.

Perhaps a position outside of Gehenna would afford you a more elevated and profound perspective. Here...have a ladder to climb out with:

He probably would not like to be referred to as a saint, but in the New Testament, Paul refers to 'believers' in Christ (the term Christian was not used yet) as "saints." It was only the Catholic Church that decided on certain miraculous phenomena as the criteria for sainthood.
