Will this Poo mix work?

I have access to a good bit of manure that has been mixed with what looks like straw, hay and ground corn stalks.  I'm not sure what kind of manure it is (probably not horse) probably cow, pig and maybe chicken.?.

Anyway the price is right for the stuff :smile:!  Can some you you guys take a look and give me your input?  Thanks

BTW, These are pics of piles of the Poo out in the field.  They aren't really dark in the pictures but the Poo piles are MUCH darker than the surrounding soil.

If it smells like dirt and not shit it is possible.
(If it is weathered and leached.)

However, those big clumps of stalks should be shredded.

If you've got a chipper/shredder you want to feed it all through I'd say go ahead and pasteurize it after shredding, and give it a shot if you've got spawn to experiment with.

If you don't have that much to experiment with...buy some bulk substrate online from a Shroomery sponsor. (Or go with a coir tek.)

It smells mostly like dirt. There is still a little bit of "farm fresh" smell. I figured that If I spread the manure out 2-3" over an area , and let it leech a little more.

I have no spawn or anything prepared. I'm just preparing for when I do. Can the manure/straw go bad if leeched too long?

i would say your good. like you said just spread it out and leach it a lil bit more if it still smells a lil, but for the big chuncks of stalks in the mix if they are to big just pull them out and throw them away, other than that i wouldnt worry about them. i like to mix in verm w/ my poo mixes thats something you might want to look at doing.
