Redchair software was kind of a let down. I had a problem with it not accepting songs with the same title (yet different songs and different lengths). It would overwrite the other one, even though they're clearly different in length and file size.
I stick with Winamp cause it just loads everything on with no hassles and no problems with identical file names.

This Redchair app has worked great thus far. Way better than ephPod.

I guess the songs I got off OiNK are tagged incorrectly because some random artists are out of alphabetical order.

"The Apex Theory" is in the A's
"A Perfect Circle" is in the P's
etc...

This annoys the shit out of me.

I wish I could just force it to put them in the right order.

Anapod Works WITHOUT itunes. I don't have itunes on my PC, and haven't since I formatted. Anapod runs it perfectly fine w/o a single apple product on the PC.

I've got 490 complete albums.

What's so good about MediaMonkey? The name makes me think spyware for some reason. I guess because it makes me think of the Bonzi Buddy.

So far out of all the applications i've tried Anapod Explorer is by far the most efficient & easy to use

Well since we're bragging, I've got 680 complete albums give or take 10.

I have never used Anapod Explorer but I have been using MediaMonkey for a while. What makes MediaMonkey so good? While it may have a stupid name and not be exciting to look at, it exceeds at performing it's functions as a music player and a music library organization device. It runs quietly and efficiently in the background and has a multitude of features that make organizing massive collections of music a breeze . Track listings and tag information can be downloaded from Amazon and applied to the files and you can apply scripts to encode filenames and track-titles any way you deem fit. But the auto-tag and auto-organize functions are nothing like WMP or iTunes, they actually work, to your specifications, quickly and on a large scale. It used to take me maybe..between 5 and 10 minutes in WMP to organize an album to my liking, but with MediaMonkey I can do it in 1-2.

Browsing the library is excellent, by location, artist, album, genre, rating, etc. which I'm sure the above mentioned programs have but from my experience the were very inefficient and I ended up browsing though my folders in explorer to find the albums I wanted to play. It connects to Shoutcast and the web (if you really needed that for whatever reason..) You can be taken immediately to a multitude of online stores to view album information. It's got synchronization, it rips, it burns, converts audio, a pretty incredible auto-dj, shuffle actually works (WMP users you know what I'm talking about - repetition), search and of course a bunch of other stuff. But that's all the stuff I use it for pretty much. But I can ensure that everything mentioned it does very well.

You'll love it. It's a way of life.

Plus I don't want to have to worry about synchronizing. I've heard plenty of horror stories.

just set it to manual...

when i got my ipod it took me all of about 15-20 minutes to transfer 20 gigs of music from my music folder to itunes and then to my ipod. then i erased everything from itunes as i prefer to listen to it through winamp or the ipod. fuck all these other programs, itunes works fine for my needs.

although i would like a program that allowed me to transfer stuff from my ipod to other computers.

Seriously try out iTunes. It's fucking simple to use, and it's not like there's anything bad about it.

Actually, that's the way the iPod displays artists with "The" or "A" at the beginning. I personally like the way it does that.

That doesn't explain why all the other bands with "The" in front of them are in the T section of my iPod...like it should be.

Actually, they shouldn't be, but yeah I find some bands do and some bands don't, I'm not sure why this happens. The Weathermen are found in the 'T' section, but The Roots are found in the 'R' section.

I could understand doing that to bands with "The" in front of them but not "A Perfect Circle". It should be under the A's not P's.
