Being a memory hog is far from efficient.

Plus I don't want to have to worry about synchronizing. I've heard plenty of horror stories.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about using 3rd party software if I feel it manages my shit better. I don't get what you mean by "infect my computer"

Fair enough. I just use my computer for music, and surfing the net, so space has never been a problem. And I don't even use an iPod anymore, CDs are the way to go.

I have a shitty ass FM transmitter for my iPod and there is a bunch of a static in the background. I've gotten used to it unfortunately. I just haven't wanted to spend 30 bucks to get the converter so I can hook it directly up to my JVC head unit. I think that's next on my list of things to buy.

ahh that thing sucks.  I got a new car (by new car I mean different older car :lol: ) and it had a *gasp* tape player in it!  The ipod -> tape player connection beats the fuck out of every FM tuner ever.


Now the direct way would be real tight...

Some how my CDs magically get fucked up even when I don't play them for months. They just sit in my CD case and I put them in to play them...but they're fucked up. Maybe it's from the heat? :shrug:

I think mini discs were the greatest idea ever but they never took off. =/

I've got a mini disc player for my stereo here in my room and a portable player.

I've gotten used to itunes. My problem with itunes that pretty much killed my desire for an ipod(lucky for mac i had already purchased one), is that it 'syncs' with only one damn computer.

Fuck that. I want to plug it in to my friend's computer, take all of his music, drop off all of my music and be on my way.

As it is, i have ephpod installation file loaded on my ipod. So i have to plug it into my friend's computer, install ephpod, load up music, drop off music, then uninstall ephpod. Very annoying.

I clearly remember going to my friends house and downloading all his tunes without losing all of mine.

That depends. If you have a CD player that's able to play MP3 CD's then you can cram a lot of fucking music onto one CD.

I've seen entire (albeit small) discographies crammed onto one MP3 CD, at a decent bitrate I might add.

I fucking hate itunes. I use winamp with the ipod plug in. I was having trouble with it crashing right after I tried to transfer files to the ipod. Backing up works fine, but transferring always caused it to hit the dust. I've made some posts on the plug in forum and am awaiting responses. Currently the best solution I've found is to use winamp 5.08 because 5.2 and 5.32 don't work (can't speak for the versions between 5.08 and 5.2). Also with 5.08 I have to use the 2.00 plug in instead of the 2.01 or whatever the hell the newest one is. I finally got it working and I much prefer it to itunes as it doesn't suck up system resources and gives me way more control and features.
