Garret was announced to be the offensive coordinator for the cowboys.. that still leaves an opening at HC.. although we need to fill that spot by early next week.

Its gonna be Norv Turner.

I'm 99% positive.

And Ron Rivera will be the D. Coordinator/Assistant Coach.

Wade Phillips was named the head coach, the defensive coordinator from the san diego chargers..

i think this was a good move by Jerry Jones.

belligerent said:
The latest scenario I've been hearing has Wade Phillips as head coach and former Cowboys QB Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator.

Damn, I love my Sirius NFL Radio. They said that shit weeks ago.

I still think it made the most sense for the Cowboys. Bringing in Norv would've handcuffed Jason Garrett too much. They're going to give him the whole offense and try to fast-track him to head coach in a few years.

And Wade Phillips was much better as a head coach than Norv was. Yeah, he had better teams, but he did well with the Bills. Take out the Music City Miracle and he'd have at least one playoff win.

Hopefully Jerry Jones will not micro-manage his new coach.

Keep your ass upstairs where it belongs, Jerry.

Jerry Jones is a great owner.. i like how he actually gets involved with the team, hell we would have never landed T.O if it wasnt for J. Jones.. and whether you like him or not, he helped that team and tony romo.. led the league in TD receptions with 14 and with his post-season finger surgery, he shouldnt be dropping as many balls next season.

as long as he can keep his head straight and get along with wade phillips i dont see why dallas cant build on the success, they have a pretty talented group of guys.

i wanted to see either wade phillips get the job, or they also interviewed the QB coach for the Colts, i would have been satisfied with either.

Wade gets the job. He's OK. Look for even more whiny T.O. garbage.

i love how people still bash him.. he didnt really have any conflicts last season, the preseason bicycle riding was the biggest thing.. and ANY player would have done the same.. maybe he didnt have to dress like Lance Armstrong but that was just funny to me.

Wasn't the cunt all over the place bashing the team for not using him enough when he had by far the most balls thrown his way on the team and damn near the most in the league? He really is an asshole, good player or not.

idk i have mixed emotions for T.O.. i think hes a great player with a bad personality.. i do however think he's done a good job in dallas.. and yeah he did lash out for not getting the ball.. but dont forget that ANYTHING T.O says gets blasted on ESPN and the news.. where any other player could say something and no one know it ever was said.. hell you even heard about T.O firing his publicist.

T.O. has made himself into a target, not ESPN. Believe me, I understand his thinking. His execution was flawed and it does not in any way ever help the team he's on, but I understood the self promo angle. These guys have like a 3 minute career so they gotta grab it while they can. I still think he's an asshole and is damn near more trouble than he's worth. In a salary cap league he wouldn't be getting my money.

hmm i dont see how he "hurt" dallas, he got them to the playoffs.. and having 14 td grabs you cant agrue that he didnt play a key role in getting them there.

Jerry Jones is an okay owner but he does have a well-earned reputation for meddling. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would want to work for Jerry Jones. And I can definately understand why Parcels left. Dealing day after day with T.O. and Jones has to be very tiring for anyone. Especially a 65 year old who doesn't need someone holding his hand every step of the way.

Jerry should just be done with it and install himself as head coach.
