i think the cowboys are in good shape... very young and talented team..

defensive coordinator from san deigo is one of the leading canidates for the job..

the chargers are getting picked apart by all the head coaching openings

yea, theyve got a good team for sure... but, parcells finally got his 3-4 scheme into place.. and they spent all the time working with d.ware to turn him into a hybrid linebacker/pass rusher ... so unless they bring in another head coach who runs the 3-4.. they have to turn ware back into a pure defensive end pass rusher. (which really he should be anyways.)

I think thats why Jerry Jones wants to bring in the defensive coordinator from the chargers.. the chargers run a very similar defense to the cowboys..

i think dallas is more effective in the 4-3 than the 3-4.. they def have better personell for the 4-3.

The Cowboys have been "close" for the last 4-5 years.

Eventually, you have to win something to be considered good. Until they do that, they're just another team living on what they've done in the past.

I really think it's because of leadership, the 'boys have consistently lacked a star player that is willing to accept responsibilty for the team, hopefully Tony Romo will be that person.

hmm.. i dont buy that.. when parcells took that team over they were terrible.. going thru 2-3 QB's per season.. and the post season was a shock..

they are a much better team.. romo will continue to get better.. and their defense will get a better... hopefully we have a good draft.

yea, thats why i dont know why they want to bring in the chargers def. coordinator... i thought the cowboys played much better the years when they ran the 4-3.. i think they should just get the best head coach they can. and go back to the 4-3. at least thats my opinnion.. but they definately need to let demarcus ware just be a defensive end. and quit trying to make him a hybrid linebacker.. that just doesnt seem to suit him well

yep the defense really needs work, the pressure coming from the d-line was terrible. which led to big throws into the secondary.
and in spite of the talent there, you can only cover a guy for so long.
I think a really good line backer such as urlacher or lewis would help.

but more importantly is another rusher like d. ware. or bigger like julius peppers or jason taylor.

if they can get that and a solid running back they would be hard to stop.

i dont think running back is a problem.. i like julius jones and marion barber..

i agree, the d-line, o-line, and linebackers should be our key in the next draft.

he knew they were going to be bunk next yr, whats the point in getting whooped on by the seahawks in the playoffs, so he bailed, I heard he needed more time to improve his golf stroke, besides I think jerry jones wants more control again, play the owner/coach thing

you are sooo stupid.. dallas didnt get "whooped on by the seahawks".. seattle was lucky to come away from that game..

and im pretty sure dallas wont be bunk next year.. they already have some good canidates for his replacement.. including Norv Turner from the 9er's and the defensive coordinator from the chargers.

The latest scenario I've been hearing has Wade Phillips as head coach and former Cowboys QB Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator. That actually sounds like a good idea to me...much better than Norv Turner.

I guess they're talking about grooming Garrett to be the head coach in a few years. You're probably too young to remember him as Aikman's backup, but he was really smart and usually did a good job when he had to step in.

actually i do remember.. aikman is who i grew up liking.. him and emmitt smith..

isnt garrett the qb's coach for the dolphins?.. and wade phillips is the defensive coordinator for SD, correct?

And you're right on both of those. Schottenheimer's might end up losing both his offensive & defensive coordinators this off-season. Ouch.

according to sources in dallas, jerry jones is persuing Bill Cowher.. im sure hes not going to have any luck, but that would be sweet as fuck.
