69 rogue... oooh yeah

and a big fucking PFFFT to all the people that said T3 will be worthless come TBC. I'm still wearing 5/9.  Only thing I replaced was a ring and a cloak.

Its more like:

T1 = 63+ blues
T2=  66+ blues
T3=  69+ blues

Im still running around in 5/8 T1 prophecy set, for the quick flash heal, and most importantly the +28 crit rating it gives.  I'm lvling holy/disc crit build, so breaking it would suck.

Funny thing is, i just got my T2 helm a week before TBC....pretty sad it's probably never gonna see action.  :lol:
Until i finaly decide to break the T1 set anyway.

I hate that game with a passion. I never played it and never will, but my little brother was sickly addicted to it, and he finally stopped because he does football, wrestling and lacrosse and I tried everything to get him to stop, and he did slow down because he felt it was effecting how he wrestled. However it was about 4 months ago when some one posted a similar post of WOWC and some one wrote "just think about how gay it really is" and he stopped. So I thank the shroomery for that, because he was seriously addicted, like thats all he did. Can some one please let me know why the game is so addictive?

WoW is addictive from a psychological standpoint in many ways.

Really, it works just like any other addictive substance.
The first time you try it, you level extremely easy.  Very little effort grants you 'the next level'.  You get higher stats, etc.  You feel accomplished.
As time goes by, the pace at which you gain levels slows down, but because you like that exhilarating 'ding', you push it anyway.

Secondly the 'goals' never really end.  At first its only levels. Then its gear. Then its skills. Then its rep. Then its....etc.
After some time you become attached to your character as if it was some sort of superpet.

Only recently did i realize how much time i wasted when the expansion came out, and my hard earned T1 gear was 'all for nothing'.  Still look at me, I'm still at it.  :nonono:

Its really just a reward for easy work.  But in reality, its a huge time sink.  In 10 years i WILL look back and say 'i really should have gone out with friends instead'.  'I worked 2 years for what again?'.
I still chill with friends, but i do admit there have been times where i was in the middle of a raid, and i turned them down, pretending i had to do ' X '.

step back and look at what you just typed, particularly the part about "10 years from now". doesn't that depress you?! this is the only life you have, we should be exploring it through and through! not sitting in front of a monitor exploring some pre-made virtual world!

i'm with you, 100 %. congrats on quitting that game, man!!!

i personally have never played WoW, but my friend's boyfriend is totally addicted. she told me that since he started playing he's been less affectionate with her, he'll often "forget" to call her cause he's too wrapped up in the game, he makes fewer attempts to come see her and when she goes to visit him then she gets ignored the entire time cause he's playing that game. and the worst part is that his sex drive it totally depleted... ALL BECAUSE OF A FUCKING GAME! IMO, anyone who would choose to play a video game over having sex with their girlfriend is lame.

but, then again, i have never understood being addicted to a game in the first place. games are fun to play from time to time... but, like you said, there is so much more to life.

I used to be hooked on Guild Wars like that, but it has lost it's appeal. I just stepped back from it for an extended period of time and did something else. I haven't had a strong desire to play anymore.

a2ndopinion is to blame for that. :wink:

I'm going to sell my account. I know some fool will buy it.

Thanks for the response Rune. Yeah, like Id like to laugh about the fact that someone can be addicted to a game, however I cant because I see how it consumes peoples life. Its crazy that a game can do that to you. I tried everything to get my little brother away from it, and made fun of it all the time. I guess it can be embarrassing when your life revolves around such things, however its a huge problem and your not alone. There's always gonna be asshole comments when it comes to addictions like this, especially when some people pick games over girls, but thats an addiction. Hope you do change your habit, I know its hard and you already know and experienced the down falls of the game first hand, but quiting can be hard. Stay strong, 5 stars!

I STILL say people are weak if they are playing WoW over doing important things in RL. My first post in this thread still stands. It's not the GAMES fault you become addicted to it and play it far too much at innapropriate times while ignoring important aspects of your real life. It's YOUR fault. All I'm hearing is "WoW is evil, wow is evil, it sucks my life away, I hate it, it's gay". No, WoW is just a game like any other... you allow yourself to let it suck your life away. YOU allow yourself to use it too much and become too obsessed. It's the same as anything addictive.

Regardless of peoples weakness....
Can WE agree on something Shroomism???

Can WE AGREE that playing guitar is ALWAYS good for the mind and the body, and it doesn't matter how much time people say you "waste" on a guitar, because playing a guitar is NEVER wasted time??
Can we agree on that??? :grin: (I've never played WoW)

Re: JUST QUIT WoW FOR GOOD [Re: Psilocybeingzz]

Again, purely subjective.

While I WILL personally agree that playing guitar is NEVER a waste of time, I have met many people that think playing guitar IS an absolute waste of time and that it detracts from your "real life". But then again, those people have are judgemental to begin with, and have never played a guitar, because they would just suck and give up on it in 5 minutes, so they judge it from a biased outsiders perspective. Guitar fucking rules no doubt about it.

But if you sat there playing guitar 16 hours a day, and not hanging out with your friends or girlfriend, and skipping work and school and important 'real life' activities because of it, then you have a problem. But who's fault is it? YOURS. Not the fucking guitar.
