Those are salt water fish, huh?

I just ordered 2 Percula clown fish and a cleaner shrimp, with a bubble fish anemone.

Na, all the tanks featured so far are fresh water tropical.

nice set up!
crystal clear water, natural design, and the tank itself is damn stylish looking.

...our fish aquarium is in dire need of an overhaul. about the only thing left is a beloved age-old pleco.

my horned lizard enjoys a higher class pad than our fish fortunately...

That light is fucking sharp bro!

I've kept fsh for years and got my wife into the hobby while we were dating. Now she's more into it than I was. We figure that whenever we purchse a home and settle down for good we'll invest both money and time in a full reef setup. Until then we keep freshwater tanks... she's into her african cichlids :-)

yep, still where i am...settled in nicely! i'll be around your neck of the woods in may for a wedding

trancedshroom: no not a saltwater reef tank...though, i'd like to see pics of your setup! when i wanted to setup a nano reef tank, 2 of the fish were to be percula clowns. but, most of the corals would have been zoas and ricordia mushrooms since i think they're beautiful. good luck with the anenome!

That is a sweet light boO, I think I might have to up my lighting to something more
substantal, used to have a sodium above it, and the plants were 100% better

the light is an arcadia overtank luminaire... 2x24 t5 flouros...it cost me 175 euros :frown:

but, there are some cheaper alternatives...an ebay store called eqi trading sells t5 and mh lights for a fraction of the cost with a much higher output. i was thinking about buying a light from them but maybe later

we definately have to meet up...it'll be a bank holiday weekend when we're there towards the end of may. maybe this time shirley can come along instead of her french-algerian alternative :p

yep! he's god.

the first photo you posted is in his house! it's such an awesome setup. there's an ada aquarium gallery in Japan that I hope to visit someday. ADA holds awesome contests too every year..you should check out all the entries, some of them are bloody spectacular...

i think i've read the 2006 ada catalogue too many times, the english is crap but the pictures are phenominal.

another aquascaper that i like the work of is Oliver Knott from germany. He's sponsored by tropica plants, which hands down have the best quality aquarium plants.

btw off topic but i think this is the "hottest" thread i've made ever in the shroomery lol...most of my threads get burried within an hour and no one is ever interested in them :p yay!

You have me interessted in shrimps now, i just have 3 wood shrimp, and 2 yakamoto (sp?) filter shrimps, which are fairly tough.

do the smaller species get eaten easy, I might be a bit over stocked with shrimp eating fish to try lol.

yeah they get eaten easily...i was going to get 2-3 dwarf pufferfish but after seeing a demonstration of them picking at a snail and breaking its shell...i decided to not get them

if the fish's mouth is big enough to swallow a fish (they're about .5-3.5 cm) then it'll be eaten..and for crs, they're too valuable to get eaten...

amano shrimp are fairly cheap, the ghost shrimps too...might be worth trying them out they're cute and addictive
