There's a mouse in my room!
    #6466964 -

So last night I caught something moving out of the corner of my eye. It was a tiny brown mouse and he has been scampering all around my apartment all night and intermittently during the day.

I wouldn't have a problem with little guy except they can spread some pretty nasty diseases. He has to go. However, I don't believe in killing him.

What can/should I do? I've thought of boarding up where he seems to be entering my apartment from, but if I board him in and he is trapped and dies not only will it have been mean but it will smell horrible.

I have also considered trapping him and putting him somewhere else. Where would you take a mouse in the city in Washington State with 3 inches of snow on the ground?

And you can't kill it... why? Unless you plan to or find someone else take care of the little mouse it will either die outside or come back to your/someone else's home. And mice have a habit of bringing other little mice friends sometimes... =/

buy an aquarium and make a house for him that he cant escape, now you have a pet... then when the weather is better take him to the woods. they have humane mouse traps you can find i dont know where though.....

I got a mouse/mice up in my attic. Every now and then I hear 'em scampering across the ceiling. It's actually woken me up out of a sound sleep before.

None of those damn traps work either. I've tried the kind that kill 'em and the live catch ones and they got the peanut butter out of both without being caught.

They do have these little things that stay emitting a high pitched noise that supposedly chases the mice away. If your place isn't that big you could probably place a few of them around it. Then, if it works, you got rid of the mouse without killing it and wherever he goes from there is his problem.

My neighbors had a mouse... None of them knew what to do.

I went over and waited for it to stick it's little head out of the crack in the wall... and then WHAM. I crushed it's skull with a mallet and tossed it in the trash.

The 4 and 6 year old girls learned the difference between "a pet" and "a pest". If you don't kill it, and spill it's blood, more will come.

Get a live trap and release him in a park. I could be wrong but I'm assuming that since he is a native mouse that he will be able to live in his natural habitat.

There is snow on the ground and it's freezing where he is... The mouse isn't dumb. It will either move into someone else's home, freeze to death or be eaten.

Just kill the damn thing and move on with your life... You do know MILLIONS of animals will die tomorrow right?
