Owner's Manuals/Truck Question

Is there any way to find owner's manuals for vehicles online for free?

Also, awhile back I had my truck taken in to have the blower for the heater/air conditoner fixed. They fixed it, but the radio no longer worked when I got the truck back, and now the blower is out again. Does it sound like fuse problems? What else could be wrong with the blower? Its really cold out and I get sick of frantically scraping my windshield every five seconds from the inside while driving. Going outside to check all of the fuses in a second, but I might need more information on the blower.

Any help is appreciated. :cool:

Sounds like the shop took more apart than they should have. It sounds electrical. What I don't understand about your other stuff not working is that usually when a blower isn't functioning you have a bad relay. The relay is really really easy to access because it is under/behind the glovebox. What kind of a truck is it and what work did they do the first time?

well did the radio unit as a whole not work, or was it just that the thing turned on, but there was no signal, just fuzz comming through.

if it didnt work at all, there is no power and there was a fuse blown, if not the whole sterio broken by a dumb ass mechanic. the plugs in the back could have also been unplugged by accident

if it was just fuzz then the antenna cable was removed, and needs to be plugged back in

Well, when I got into the truck (this was friggin months ago), there was no power to the radio. I should have dealt with it then but I was in a hurry. The blower stopped working again soon after.

The work they did was to get the blower running again - I'm not certain if it was a bad fuse, or if they had to replace it, or what - it was when the full warranty was on and I never paid anything. I'm assuming that, whatever was wrong then, is wrong now.

I'm heading out right now to check the fuses, but I've checked them awhile back and am not sure if that is really the problem.

Now, when you say a bad relay, and that it is easy to access... is it easy to replace (something I could do/afford)? It is a '95 Dodge Dakota. :grin:

you could check on this nifty program i used in this class i took - Alldata -this is an online site that has every manual for every car , but better still it allows you to troubleshoot whatever car problem you are having IE electrical problem, blower , whatever it may be.

ps- i am looking for the link to the site right now.

If it is the relay, they are dirt cheap...less than fifty, probably closer to 15. You should be able to replace it in 20min or less. It's attached to the black heater box that is just above the passenger foot space. If you get down on your back and look up under the dash, there will be two boxes, (one black/brown, one white/clear) and one of those boxes will have the fan relay on it. Just pull it out and push the new one in.

Just checked the fuses, and they all seem to be fine. Missing a few, but I think that is normal, and it wouldn't explain the blower not working anyways.... :grin:

Came back in to get specifics on the location on the fuse, and I see that you already mentioned where to find it. Is there any way by looking at it to discern that it is fucked?

No, unfortunately not. Unless, of course, it burned up, then you'd be able to tell. But it'd be just like looking at a stick of bad computer memory, it will look just like the good stick of computer memory.

Just got back from making the payment on the truck. They said if I take it to their place I can pay 25% and then the rest will get added onto my truck payments. I'll drop it off tomorrow. Unfortunately, our car is pretty much fucked so hopefully I can get it back right away. :grin:
