what i dont get about the NFL

maybe its because im also a bengals fan

but why, in the steelers case its not as bad.. but why would you beat a playoff contender, when you have no chance of going to the playoffs?... you get an extra win and consequently a worst draft pick.. why not concede that you didnt make the playoffs and position yourself for next season

in the case of detriot.. wtf were they thinking beating dallas... that was fucking retarded.. ok so now they finish with 3 wins, the 2nd worst record, therefor handing the #1 pick to Oakland, when they could have got the first pick in next years draft. IMO its just stupid coaching/ GM decisions..

and we all know the Lions could use a Brady Quinn caliber QB.. and im pretty sure Oakland wont pass on him.

I agree with you but the answer is pretty obvious. There's too much revenue on the line to just concede. And if they show-up they gotta play. Those guys are way too competitive to just roll over. Detroit would have been better off just playing all third string guys and saying do your best. But then again it's always a pleasure to see the Cowboys lose.
