Compost heap inoculation with spent cakes...
    #6414004 -

Is this plausible? I took my spent cakes and broke them up and tossed them into my organic recycle bin (aka compost bin). I was wondering if they might by some off chance, actually manage to take hold. I don't live in the most hospitable regions for outdoor growing, this I know (mojave desert). So what is the likelyhood that this is even a possibility?

the probability of them fruiting well in a desert is probably not very good.  but wait and see what happens, you never know

That would be a nice surprise though if I spread out the compost and grew grass, or some trees and noticed one day that there were little B+ patches all over the place. I wonder how that would effect my resale value on the house.

We do get our fair share of amanitas out here though, and LBMs... perhaps there is hope.

Wither way, I am sure my outdoor plants will not have any negative feelings towards the spent substrate in the compost. :dancingshroom:
