I use one of the Jiffy greenhouse that holds the expandable peat pellets. This is filled to about an inch with moist cactus soil. I use Schultz Cactus & Succultent Potting Mix. The seeds are scattered across the surface and cover lightly with more soil. I normally just lightly rack the surface with a fork. The cover is placed back on the tray and placed under a grow light for 10-12 hours a day. Mist the soil every day or two to help promote air exchanges and keep the humidity up. I have had seeds start germinating after a week. I have over 30 sprouts of three different Trichocereus cacti at this time using this method and more keep coming up.

did you use the expanding peat pellets or take them out and use the soil? did you let the pellets dry out after you waterd them or did you let them dry out before planting and adding more soil or whatever? thanks.

don't cover your seeds and your germ rates will improve.
OP: if you followed instrctions and did everything correctly but still no seeds germinated, then your seeds are bunk.

krispy- that link doesn't even give germination instructions. Also you need to edit the link out before a mod does it for you. It has vendor links.
Instead of doing a net search- UTSE.
They are easy to grow. You either screwed up majorly or your seeds were not viable. Ditch what you got and start over with more knowledge and seeds from a reputable supplier. And plz don't go spending $5 for 10 seeds. Yeah those are the shitty seeds I was talking about.
