Tarzetta rosea

here is a funny patch of Tarzetta rosea i found in my back yard.













It's kind of odd that i found these where i did. First off all the literature says this mushroom grows on burn sites. i found this patch growing in the dark under an old blanket. the blanket had been laying around in a hole my dog dug. There hasn't been a burn in this area in at least 4 years. perhaps the dog dug up some old ash deposits. I wonder if i could get it to take on agar.  :crazy2:

Very nice find, those look like some tiny mushrooms! I always find cup fungi to be somewhat mysterious and cheerful at the same time. Those are nice photos btw, keep it up!

Nice pics. They look like something that would be hard to photograph in good detail. About what was the actual size of those specimens?

the largest one which is in the super closeup shot is about 3/4". the small one with the stem visible is about 1/5" wide.
