Tips, links, or advice; etc!

Our middle and high school made a huge deal out of arbor day every year. We all stood around watching them put little trees into already dug holes.

I think it'd be awesome, though, if fruit trees were planted in patches all around various areas so (if not badly polluted), more well-known food would be free to all.

Planting for Lumber?

Plant about 1000 trees per acre. Crowded yes. But That will force them to grow tall and straight. The more nots in the wood the cheaper the price. So as it grows trim off the lower branches. Every few years thin out the population.

bare root trees should be planted during their dormancy, trees in soil can be
planted in the spring and fall, use a 5 gallon bucket with a small hole to keep a
steady drip of water in the roots for these newly planted trees

once i ate a Loquat, it was good!
its seeds were cast by a spittle to my windowsill bed.
time went by and where seeds once were there was a sapling getting a little too big.
i called me mom and there was joy, we pulled the soon to be a tree and stuck it in the garden of our building.
seasons changed, the sapling was no more, now it was a tree!
it grew and grew as time went by, occasionally flowering and giving fruit.
there was much rejoicing, this year in perticular, my mouth is watering at the thought of last years fruit, big and sweet they were!

Something fucked up's going on in this thread...

I treeplanted a few years back. Read lots of reviews on all companies before deciding who to work for and only go for the best ones, because different companies and camps will provide entirely different experiences and also bring you different amounts of cash.

I suggest reading everything on this webpage, just like I did years ago.

The site either seems to be much more minimal than it was when I went there last, or it was a different site I read... but the one I used had tons of company reviews and everything else under the sun concerning treeplanting.

Gotta go for now, but do lots of research before going. The food is usually pretty good, the mornings fucking cold, and the afternoons squelching hot. In the beginning you'll be attacked by wasps, at the end, mosquitos. Bring deet. You won't care about the cancer when you're being eaten alive.

I used to work for a landscaping company. I used a pick, and dog hole after freakin' hole, but I planted lots of trees. We'd plant like 100 trees a day.
