I hope not. The sony empire and its bullshit needs to die. I hope one of the other many replacement DVD standards takes over.

From what I've played of PS3, 360 is still out in front graphics-wise. And xbox has the halo series... that shit will keep xbox going forever.

when people realize that the ps3 is made with the same shitty hardware as the ps2 was it will sink down the shit drain. the 360 already has a great audience and the wii has helped to damper the ps3. microsoft also has some tricks up there sleeves for the 360.

Man i got the fucking dreamcast, thinking it would be sweet and all. NO!

What a colossal waste of money. i hear even the Wii isn't doing so good, what with its remote that breaks everything and all.

Wikipedia:

In the USA, "HD Ready" refers to any display that is capable of accepting and displaying a high definition signal at either 720p, 1080i or 1080p using a component video or digital input, and does not have a built-in HD-capable tuner.

So that means you still have to buy the HD tuner separately.

A lot of what X-box is about is online gaming which sony lacks hardcore.

I'm sorry, but I'm a proud member of the Sony Nation. :shrug:

I loved my PS1 and still love my PS2. I won't bother trying to put my hands on a PS3 for another year though.  And I've owned 2 Sony TVs, a Sony video camera, and a Sony digital camera.  And I'm sure I could think of a few other products if I tried.  And I have yet to ever have a problem with a Sony product.  Never even suffered any of the glitches that PlayStations are "known" for.  Maybe I'm just lucky, but its working for me so I'll keep buying Sony products.

I'm not sure that the X-box is going to be exactly like the Dreamcast in status, but it will most likely be the closest to it. Sony has plenty of room to expand and they have a ton of good games coming out over the next few years. I think the Wii will do pretty well due to it's engaging nature.

I hope Sony has learned its lesson this time around, though. They need to delay next time if they don't have their supply together. As far as mechanical problems, most systems have those at the beginning anyways.
