I would say about 80/20 coir/WC I usually add some straw into that mix.

Then just pasteurize for an hour

Using oven bags, or RR's pasturize in the jar method, is ideal for a substrate with worm castings.

I bought a large bag of worm castings, and used it straight from the bag, mixing it in with the pasturized straw. No problems. The bag is a year old now, so I'm not so keen on using it "as-is", though I would like to incorporate some into my next grow.

What I'll probably do is pasturize the worm castings using RR's jar method, and pasturize the straw/hpoo seperately using a pillow case. Then just mix everything together.

Come to think of it, I got some REALLY good flushes using worm castings mixed in straw. I was into experimenting with every sub I could find, and just kinda quit using it.

Do you add water to worm castings? I tried it once and the results were ok, but I realy felt like a little bit of water was too much, the whole mix turned into mud. Any ratios to follow?

25% water, by volume, can/will turn castings to mud.

The best way I've found to incorporate castings is as follows:

5 parts castings - slowly hydrate until it just becomes mud
2 parts water - add to the mud
Pasturize (or not)
5 parts dry vermiculite - oven sterilized (or not)
Add the verm to the slurry, and you have nice fluffy worm castings, right at field capacity.

I'd pasturize the castings, and sterilize the verm, just because it seems like a good practice, keeps the variables down.
