Having the same book

Though it may not seem very important, when a group is reading a work together, it helps greatly to have a book by the same publisher and published date.

For discussion purposes, being on the same page (literaly) can make discussions more interesting and can help the flow of the discussion.

Of course, not everyone will be able to buy a new book........and if a book is chosen that I already have I probably will not buy a new copy.

But, those instances where a book is chosen that you do not have, it may be a good idea if we aall purchased from the same place. If that is not possible, you may want to keep in mind the publisher and date published when searching the local library.....

Just an idea.

I taught freshman lit in my 5th year.
There was always the kid who did not want to pay $10 for his books so he would borrow from the library........and he never stayed on track with everyone....was kinda funny
