I don't know what good this program does, but I'm hoping perhaps by culling and repairing my registry I can alleviate all this damn instability I've been having. Games have been crashing too fucking much lately, it's angering me.

Apparently I had damn near 2,000 invalid paths accumulated, and a couple dozen invalid file associations.

I'm not sure what that means, but I suppose fixing it can't hurt as long as I don't try to do anything advanced that I don't know how to do properly.

Registry cleaners are the spawn of Satan. I've never found a good one. I can virtually guarantee that your system will end up more unstable than when you started. If you want to clean your registry, you really need to do a clean install. In the future use Procmon so you know what's going on in your registry and you can manually remove unwanted entires.

well, that sucks.

I was going to do a fresh install sometime this month anyways (after I finish properly seeding a few big bittorrent downloads)... but I was hoping I could shore up the walls a bit in the mean-time, so to speak.

Fuck it then, I'll just finish backing things up and write zeroes to the whole fucking drive, reformat it and start anew.

Really?

I think Ccleaner is a fantastic program. Although, I'll admit, the registry cleaning aspects are only a small part of it's awesomeness. Mainly it's the junk cleaning stuff. It cleaned 1.9GBs from my system :p
