No, perhaps we don't but the thousands of scientists who disagree with him might.

Just because someone is a scientist doesn't mean that they know exactly what they're talking about.

A few things to consider: does a molecular geneticist know more about viral diseases than a virologist?

Basing your argument on the credibility of its proponents is completely moot when the facts don't add up.

There were quite a few scientists on board with this, at least at one point.

I haven't found anything recent from Mullis about this. Maybe he changed his mind.
