set up home ftp

i have a NAS set up at my home, it has a built in FTP server, and i am behind a router...

i want to set up the FTP on the NAS drive so i can access it from anywhere, but dont know how to do so, if anyone has a link to a guide on setting it up or any pointers, it would be great.

Hard to go into detail without information about the NAS device. If the FTP server is up and running, you should be able to set your router to forward port 21 to the NAS internal IP and it will be accessible from everywhere. If you want to use passive mode, you'll have to find out the port range used by the NAS and forward those too. Make sure you have a strong password, I'm constantly getting brute force attempts on my FTP.
