medicinal miso soup
    #6285402 -

I'm ffeeling under the weather, and one of my favorite comfort foods is miso soup.
here's what I'm eating right now.

for one large serving-

-about one quart filtered municipal / pure well water
-half a large yellow onion
-almost an entire clove of garlic (medium sized)
-two large stalks of kale, stems and all
-approx. one cup of broccoli
-one heaping tablespoon brown rice miso
-one tablespoon coconut oil - of course this is optional but i love the taste of it. it's good for you vegetarians too, nice and fatty
-fresh ginger
*mushrooms are always nice but I don't have any at the momnet

heat water, garlic onion and kale until edibly hot...do not boil, the goal is to keep the nutrients intact as much as possible. turn off heat, add broccoli and cover. steam for 15-20 miutes. make sure it's not too hot to eat, add miso and other ingredients. enjoy.

I love miso.. used to eat it for breakfast all the time. Reishi mushrooms go really well in it. I also liked mine with a big glob of rice and some fried dumplings.

I love miso soups, I'll definitely be trying this out, but I have a different type of miso, I have some white miso and some red miso.
