I have beech, oak and hickory wood chips and larger pieces - which would be the best for fruiting azures and Ps.Cyanescens??

I'd say Beech and hickory for the azures but for the cyans I don't think it matters. My friend just took a bunch of unknown woodchips from various trees and got great results. Mix all three of them together and see what happens, you'll probably get great results.

I agree. Any hardwoods seem to work fine. I have had fine luck with whatever is locally availible. Your local tree trimmers will likely provide you a truck full. Get them in early spring before they have too much leaf matter. The advantage I would think to using local trees is that the azures and/or cyans might hopefully naturalize to your region (back yard).

My problem was that because i am in Australia Hardwoods from america are hard to come by. Oak is okay, but hickory and beech were harder. Its all good now though - ill chuck in some native aussie woods to see how they go... thnx
