one theory is that the carmel capped psilocybes need beneficial bacteria in order to fruit. however, stamets says that fruiting cyans and azures indoors is possible provided the right conditions. see "growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms" as far as high pressure, I think more often air exchanges and high humidity, combined with the proper temps are what is important. pinset indoors of these psilocybes has been achieved numerous times, but they always seem to stall. in nature the azures especially live in an area that is always windy and very damp. without the dampness, the azure flushes seem to suffer moreso than the cyans. I would also like to try using straw/alder mixes indoors, seeing as how the azures fruit prolifically off matted dune grass alone with no wood involved at all. straw would certainly be colonized quickly, since azure mycelium will colonize even on 2x4's

How about the wood based mycobags? Has anyone experimented with those, or is that just to simple to work?

The azures in my garden were a lot hardier than the cyanescens. I found it was the cyanescens that didnt deal at all well with temperature and humidity fluctuations.

This is the third thread in advanced mycology you've made me lock today.  This one should have been locked 8 years ago.  Knock it off now cause my finger is getting itchy. . .
