Congratulations!
My beds fruited very poorly this year . The bed I made three years ago gave only a small hand full of shrooms, and the new bed didn't fruit at all.

too bad, but maybe it's not too late for your new bed to fruit.

what are the temps like down there? I'm worried that my beds aren't going to fruit this year either, as we've already had a few hardish frosts this year.

the temps are varying a lot. sometimes it's almost 1-2*C at night, and an other day it's 8-10*C. During day the temps are about 10*C. Hope your beds still fruit man!!

@comario
the mycelium looks THE FINEST! It's white and dense. But I think, I made the bed too late (in august). The myc probably had not enough time to decompose the fresh wood chips. The first bed I made did also fruit very poor in the first year. So I have to be patient. Azures fruit when they want to fruit, you cannot force them. And that's why I like them...

well, at least your myc is still there and looking healthy. my beds not only did not fruit, but the myc, which looked great initially, seems now to have died out

died out?!
Did you have no rain for weeks? I thought, the Azures mycelium was nearly indestructible. I think, this year is a bad year for the Azures. I wish you luck!

no, i don't think it was lack of rain, maybe the opposite, could i have watered too much? that might have triggered some contamination?

It really depends on the local water. This year was the best azure year for me since I began growing them in 1999.

anno, what do you mean, are you referring to the amount of natural rainfall? or the quality of the rain? or what?

>are you referring to the amount of natural rainfall? Yes, mainly the amount of the rainfall, both over the summer, as in the autumn, when the fruiting time comes. This year was exceptionally rainy in my area.

see, the opposite of what we experienced this year here in the us. this is why i had set up an automatic mister next to my bed. perhaps i overwatered? or could it be the local tap water i used, instead of the rain? or, as i think, some type of contamination due to less-than-perfect environmental paramenters?
