Temperature Problems

Hey guys :| I was just reading through a bunch of the faq's again.. In the pictures that are in my last post in my grow log: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum2&Number=614334 I have some growths I didn't recognize... I now realize that the problems are the temps stay too warm (never dropping below 78 and usually never over 85) in the closet where I have my pod.
I was wonder if anyone could think of anyway too cool down my closet to fruiting temps without using a fan (blowing around dirty and/or hot air) I can't move it to another place in the house.. renting the other room out... and downstairs there's cats :|
Any suggestions? -Orin-

The temperature is not the problem. Its your humidity or air exchange. When you see growth like that it means the mycelium is seaching for fresh air. Your temp is fine.

well... if it's not the temperature ... and only one of those two things I'm gonna say it's the humidity, cause I have fresh air being pumped in there 24/7 :|
Anyone else have any ideas? (not to knock you Astaroth, just trying to get a couple opinions)

Well, I'm not sure if we have the same problem, but my first casing of Ecuadors won't pin. The casing is in a Rubbermaid container with the temperature at 27-29 which is room temperature here. The humidity is 91-92. I fan 3-4 times a day.
I've patched and put them in the fridge for 12 hours on May 5th. Now everything is looking just like p142 of TMC again. I'm just going to wait and see what happens.
I don't really have any suggestions for you , but it seems that the same thing is happening to me. What is the growth that you didn't recognise?

In reply to:

that :P I figured it was just some mycellial growth, feathery tufts of stuff, growing out in a couple directions. (never seen pictures of it before is all)
PS: Thanks Myco-tek looking forward to being able to participate in the boards on the hydrapod page! -Orin-

Thats nothing... Take a look at the Puerto Rican cake, this thing looks like a shaggy dog. The other cake is PESA. They are growing together in the middle, I dont know if its good or not. I finally discovered pins on the PR cake tonight. I was worried about it, it went for 13 days before the pinning. The PR strain came from SporeWorks.
