CDJs
    #6203449 -

So Im thinkin of buying a CDJ set but I have no idea whats reasonable.
It should have a scratch pad to be able to pause, pull back, or skip forward and obviously it needs a tempo control slider. I already have a mixer (Stanton SMX-201) so I just need the players.

Any suggestions on brands, models, prices, etc. etc.?

I think the answer you would get from most are the CDJ 800's 1000's and 1000MK2's. You get whichever you can afford, I myself have a Denon DNS3500. It might be a better idea to invest into Serato Scratch Live.

Hmm, looks nice but a lil out of my league (and budge...) :tongue2:  .
So far Ive been lookin at stuff like the American Audio CDI 500, Denon DN-S1000, Vestax CDX-05, or the Pioneer CDJ-200. These are all roughly $400 but they all seem pretty much the same...

If your wanting to just mix then Id go with cdj 200's if your budget is that low. Pioneer has proven themselves to be quite reliable with the propper care. I have a pair of CDJ 1000s and I wouldnt trade them in for anything. Pioneer knows what they're doin

If you were trying to scratch then Id say save your money for better gear. Because you truely get what you pay for when it comes to pro audio equipment.

Ok, back at this again. Ive been searchin around and came across this site (www.audiolines.com) where the prices seem to be pretty nice.

Im completely new to this so Ill only be trying to mix stuff. But I am hoping to eventually start scratching, beat juggling, and what ever else there is to do. I dont want to limit myself ya know.
But at the same time, my budget is really really limited....

The Pioneer cdj-200 sounds good and Ill probably end up with this one.
They also have the Pioneer CDJ-800 mk2 for $430 B stock (this one sounds like a really good player but thats probably just over my budget unless I scrape some extra money up somewhere).
A Gemini iCDJ for $240 (looks simple, too simple?)
Theres also the Gemini CFX-20 which is pretty cheap; $210, $160 B stock (whats B stock?).
The Gemini CFX-30 is $350.
American Audio CDI-500MP3 for $400 (regular priced. are American Audio any good? never heard of them before).

As you can tell I have no idea about cdj equipment....  So Id really apreciate any info you guys could give me in helping me decide which player to get.

Well if your wanting to mix and scratch then your going to have to bump up your budget. Alot of the lower end players claim to have the scratch function but they just sound like shit compared to quality decks. But thats up to you...

Pioneer CDJ 800s are pretty much the same as 1000s but are missing some features 1000's have. Scratching and mixing is deffinitly possible on the 800s so those would be quality decks to purchase. CDJ 1000s and 800's are industry standards in most night clubs cuz they are top quality decks.

Ive also heard alot of good things about the Denon DN-s5000 players also. I dont know much about those decks so I can comment much.

Try and avoid American audio and gemini. Alot of their products tend not to hold up so well.

Search the forums at www.djforums.com. Questions like yours are popping up over on the forums everyday. Its also pretty much where I learned everything.

One of the cheapest place to buy gear online would be www.agiprodj.com.
