the cable guy left his computer
    #6210814 -

It has a standard tv cable line coming out and a port for another one. It has a bunch of crazy buttons and turns on. Can this thing give me free cable?

its only a matter of time before they notice.

and it sends signals to the cable company and the cable company replies, so they will notice immediately.

Don't plug it in yet! Use the internet (and us!) to find out what it is you're having, and whether or not it can be of use.

Can you make a snapshot? So far you did nothing wrong ^_^

Nope guy came back and picked it up. I looked it up and it gets hooked up to the plugs. it then does a sweep to see if the cabel is leeking any information. pretty much jus that. Wurth 2500 though.

You need to remove a physical isolator to get cable. It's a pretty simple chore, if you know what you're doing.

I've used a pair of needle nose pliers to do it. But the tool would be less of a hassle for sure.

Just cut the main wire coming to your house, split it and run it to a different location on the house. That way if the cable guys ever come by they are less likely to notice it. At least thats how it was for me when I lived in an upstairs apartment. I just hung outside my window and split the wire and ran one to my window and the other back down to the box. I stood right out there with the cable guy one day as he hooked up the downstairs cable trying to get me to become a subscriber!! :rotfl:

If it's that convenient I guess.

Usually it involves removing an isolator on a telephone poll before the cable runs to your house. PS, there is ELECTRICITY flowing through some of those wires. Do not attempt unless you know what you're doing. In fact, don't attempt it at all. Seriously.

Up until just recently software based satellite hacking was down. Someone just cracked DVB card based satellite testing.
