!!PICS ADDED!! Blue Ringers (Stuntzi) Sporeprint: Purple Brown
    #6219243 -

I was walking to a friends house and took a short cut over a lawn. Me having knowledge of shrooms of course always check the grass for em'. I stumbled on to some blue bruising mushrooms, possibly semilanceata. Aka Liberty cap. I am familiar with the characteristics of magic mushrooms because I used to pick the cubensis strain in another country. I'm pretty sure these are active. Just need a confirmation from the experts out there...

Any way I'll get on to the identification:

* Habitat: Vancouver Island BC Canada, growing in grass.
* Characteristics of the gills: Gray to slight light brown, attached gills
* Characteristics of the stem: approximately 2 inches in length, diameter, white and bruising brown and blue on, silky look and texture like that of cubensis, hollow, thin and strong stem.
* Characteristics of the cap: White and golden brown, rubbery in texture. Slight nipple. On the smaller specimens the cap is very round.
* Spore print color: !!NEW!! Purple with a little brown in it
* Color that the mushroom bruises: Blue and brown

I'm stoked on this find! Was just about to buy mushrooms tomorrow. Now I find these just growing in the grass. Ever since I moved away from the warm climate I haven't been able to hunt any mushrooms (I used to pick a ton of cubensis). Now I finally have a patch!

I should also note that they were NOT found in a cow field but in ordinary grass. It gets watered every day so I should be expecting WAY more fruits!!

They are all defenetly the same strain. Spore print from the flatter ones matches the smaller ones. Plus they all bruised blue.

They've all got veil remnants. I'm thinking Stropharia...

Does the stropharia strain bruise blue?

There's been a load of people confused here over the past few weeks with the blue Stropharia's (Stropharia aeruginosa/cyanea.) They mistake patches of blue for bruising.

Yeah they don't really have a nipple. Dammit though, what a tease! I can't belive how close to an active they look. Silky stem, blueing, strong stem and cap, a veil like that of cubensis, and the spore print of a liberty cap.

Damm! :frown:

Defo not lib caps, stem to thick, no nipple, and quite large for liberty's.
A few have a veil ring present, libs dont have that.

Stems are too meaty for libs. I'm with Amatoxin, probably stropharias.
